Akhirah Project Ben Nevis & National 3 Peaks for FOBE Sensory Room
Charity Registration No. 1091012
Story
The Akhirah Project are supporting FOBE to establish a state of the art Sensory Room at their new Disability Support Centre in Luton.
This is a specially designed space which has a range of equipment to help individuals stimulate, develop and engage their different senses. This will include lights, colours, sounds & sensory soft play resources all housed within a safe environment that allows the child using it to explore and interact without risk.
This type of facility benefits children with many needs including those who have learning difficulties, developmental disabilities or sensory processing impairments.
Unfortunately not many spaces like this exist and it isn’t easily available for families in Luton to access. FOBE will provide opportunities for hundreds of children to access support including the sensory room on a weekly basis.
22 individuals are putting themselves through indescribable pain and suffering to help establish this new facility.
12 brave challengers will be trekking the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. To reach the summit at 1344metres high, it will be gruelling and both physically and mentally exhausting.
10 others will be taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 Hours! They will aim to summit the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Mt Snowdon, all in the space of 24 Hours including travelling between each mountain.
